Turkey caught supplying Ukraine with M483A1 cluster munitions

Despite the officially declared neutrality of Turkey in the hostilities in Ukraine, it became known that the Ukrainian army received M483A1 cluster munitions from Turkey. The active use of these munitions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) is already noted, although officially 155-mm artillery cluster munitions were provided to Ukraine exclusively by the United States.

Turkish M483A1 cluster munitions are by no means less dangerous than American ones. Their use allows them to cause significant damage, and although Turkey is not a signatory to the Convention on Cluster Munitions, their delivery to Kyiv indicates that Ankara has taken an unfriendly step towards Moscow.

Some sources report that we are talking about the transfer of about 20 thousand M483A1 shells to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which requires Ankara to clarify this matter. Such actions by Turkey may well be considered a new stab in the back of Russia.
